7th International Conference on Teacher Education
Leadership in Teacher Education: Fostering Social Transformation & Harmony

The International Conference on Teacher Education is a biennial event sponsored by the College of Education of the University of the Philippines, Diliman. The conference serves as a venue for sharing ideas among academicians, educationists, teacher educators, teacher-practitioners, school administrators, and policymakers on how teacher education can best serve society.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Individuals and institutions are invited to present academic papers on the two major conference strands:
- Transformational Leadership
Papers may focus on any issues in education that address the following concerns:
- How are teacher education institutions preparing teachers for educational leadership?
- How can teacher education influence government policy, research and advocacy?
- What best practices in educational leadership proved effective in transforming school systems?
- What current initiatives are being done in teacher education institutions to promote transformational leadership in the educational system?
- What are the indicators of exemplary transformational leadership?
- Education for Social Transformation
Topics may include educational efforts that deal with the following questions:
- What educational reforms have brought about social transformation in various educational landscapes?
- In what ways can teacher education inspire and foster social transformation?
- How can teacher education reflect and embody social justice?
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR PROPOSAL
A proposal can be submitted for:
- Individual or panel paper presentation
- Poster presentation
The proposal must include:
- The title of the presentation
- The name/s and institutional affiliation/s of the presenters
- Mailing address and e-mail address
- The relevant conference strands
- The type of presentation
- A 250 – 300 word abstract of the paper
Proposals must be submitted in Word document format as attachment to Greg Pawilen at icted.philippines@gmail.com by December 20, 2011.
IMPORTANT DATES
- Final date for submission of proposals: December 20, 2011
- The notice of acceptance will be sent by January 20, 2012.
- Registration officially begins on February 12, 2012.
REGISTRATION FEES
Presenters are given a special registration rate of US$ 200.00 (for International Participants) and US$ 150.00 (for International Students).This includes the conference fee and kit, meals and snacks.
