The International Conference on Teacher Education is a biennial event sponsored by the University of the Philippines – College of Education. The conference serves as a venue for sharing ideas on global trends and issues in teacher education among academics, educationists, teacher educators, teacher-practitioners, school administrators, and policymakers.

Social class, ethnicity, indigenous origin, religion, gender, language, and other socially mediated attributes have increased the diversity in local educational agencies and schools around the world. Learners bring with their socio-economic, linguistic, cultural and regional identities, a range of knowledge, skills, and dispositions they need in their occupations, families, communities, and other civic responsibilities. To prepare students to be productive in pluralistic diverse societies, there is a need to expand ways to create new innovative knowledge and technologies. The enriching nature of diversity and transformative innovations are needed to live in a complex challenging world and to create a socially-just multicultural, global learning environment.
This conference features research and best practice papers that address the following questions:
How has diversity enriched our curricular offerings and instructional strategies?
How are teachers trained to manage diverse learners?
How does the concept of privilege affect the schooling of students in our present society?
How is equity in education guaranteed?
What reforms have revolutionized the way we educate students?
What innovations have transformed our educational landscape?
